I believe you've felt it before. You've felt it in your heart, the inner pangs of desire. The desire for something more. You look around you. You try to suppress it. Are you the only one? You can't tell. Is there something wrong with you? No … [Read more...] about Have You Felt It Too? The Burning Desire to be Free
Start With Why
Know your Purpose and Goals - know your Why
There's so much noise out there. So much information and misinformation. We are drowning in information like no time before in human history.
Before you dive deeper into the How and even deeper still into the nitty-gritty details (i.e. the What) where it's so so easy to get lost, you need to take a step back.
As Simon Sinek puts it, you need to Start With Why.
You need to know your goals, purpose and priorities in life. This is your cause, your belief. Why do you do what you do? Why do you get out of bed in the morning? And why should anyone care?
That's why I've organised the content on this site around what Sinek calls the Golden Circle. At the heart of the Golden Circle is the WHY.
So here's an idea of the type of content you will find under this category:
1) Content around emphasizing the need for you to have clarity of cause. A clear defined purpose/vision/goal/definition of where you want to be.
2) Articles around the futility of the Rat Race as a constant reminder of what you're trying to run away from. (What you really don't want)
3) Articles around keeping your End Goal in mind as constant encouragement for you to keep your eyes on what you're running towards.(What you really want)
Remember that by always keeping sight of the WHY, when the going gets tough (which at some point it inevitably will), you will be able to keep "adding fuel" (motivation, energy and drive) to that burning desire inside you to be free.
March to a steady drumbeat
Realize that this is an ongoing process. You need to constantly be keeping the Why at the back of your mind so you don't lose sight of it. Otherwise it is so easy to get caught up in the blizzard of day-to-day life and tasks, soon forgetting why you are even doing what you are doing.
It's like having a steady drumbeat that you are constantly marching to. They Why should guide your How and ultimately What you do.
That's why I will frequently remind, reiterate and drive home this point to you.
